Dural arteriovenous fistula supplied by the artery of Davidoff and Schechter

چکیده
Dural arteriovenous fistulae are common intracranial vascular anomalies. They are usually supplied by meningeal branches of the internal or external carotid arteries. When they occur in the posterior fossa, they are usually supplied by the posterior meningeal branches of the vertebral artery, in addition to the external carotid artery. In this case report we highlight a rare meningeal contribution to the dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) from the posterior cerebral artery.

Spinal dural arteriovenous fistula : a case report
Background: Spinal dural AVF is the most common type of spinal vascular malformation. However, presenting symptoms differ according to site of spinal involvement. This study described a case of arteriovenous malformation with paraparesis and incontinence. Case Presentation: Diagnosis of patient was confirmed by clinical and imaging examination using magnetic resonance image and ruling out ot...
متن کاملConnection between a dural artery and a dural vein in a dural arteriovenous fistula of the cranial vault.
A 41-year-old man presented with consciousness disturbance and right hemiparesis. Computed tomography showed a hematoma in the frontal lobe. Left carotid angiography showed a dural arteriovenous fistula (AVF) located in the cranial vault, supplied by the left middle meningeal artery, and drained directly into the cortical vein adjacent to the superior sagittal sinus. Emergency decompressive cra...
متن کاملTentorial dural arteriovenous fistula of the medial tentorial artery
The medial tentorial artery arises from the meningohypophyseal trunk, a branch of the cavernous internal carotid artery, and it is poorly visualized on angiography in the absence of pathologically increased blood flow. We present the case of a 38-year-old man with intraventricular hemorrhage from a tentorial dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) singularly supplied by a robust medial tentorial art...
متن کاملOnyx Embolization of Dural Arteriovenous Fistula, using Scepter C Balloon Catheter: a Case Report
We report our experience using Onyx for embolization of dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) under dual lumen balloon catheter flow arrest. Transfemoral cerebral angiography revealed a superior sagittal sinus (SSS) DAVF that was supplied via multiple branches of the external carotid arteries, the right anterior cerebral arteries, and the meningeal branches of the internal carotid artery. There wa...
متن کاملMarginal sinus fistula supplied exclusively by vertebral artery feeders.
A 54-year-old woman is reported with severe pulsatile tinnitus. Digital subtraction angiography demonstrated dural arteriovenous fistula of the marginal sinus with feeders arising exclusively from bilateral vertebral arteries. Patient underwent successful transarterial Onyx embolization with complete angiographic and clinical cure.
